Frequently Asked Questions
Enrolling, paying, certificates and the things that occasionally go wrong. If your question is not here, we are one message away.
Getting Started
4 questions
Do I need an account to browse courses?
No. You can browse the catalog and read every
course description without signing in. You need an account to enroll, track progress,
or earn a certificate.
How do I create an account?
Use the Register for free button in the top bar. You will need a
working email address, a username and a password. Registration itself is free; individual
courses may be paid.
How do I enroll in my first course?
Open the course from the catalog and choose Enroll. Free courses open
straight away. Paid courses go into your cart, and access starts as soon as your payment
is confirmed.
What do I need to run the platform?
A current version of Chrome, Firefox, Edge or Safari, and a reasonable internet
connection for video. Nothing to install. The site works on phones and tablets, though
longer assignments are easier on a laptop.
Courses and Learning
5 questions
Are courses self-paced or scheduled?
It depends on the course. Self-paced courses let you work through the material whenever
you like. Scheduled courses have start dates and assignment deadlines, which are shown on
the course page before you enroll.
How long do I keep access to a course I paid for?
Access stays with your account for as long as the course is on the platform. If we ever
retire a course you have paid for, we give notice first so you can finish it. The details
are in section 6 of the Terms and Conditions.
Can I download videos and course material?
You can view everything in the browser, and some courses offer downloadable handouts.
Bulk downloading or redistributing course material is not allowed, as set out in section 7
of the Terms and Conditions.
Is there anywhere to ask questions about the material?
Yes. Most courses include a discussion area where you can ask the course team and other
learners. Use Contact Us for account, billing or
technical problems rather than course content.
What are Learning Tracks?
Tracks group related courses into a route through a subject, so you can see a sensible
order rather than picking courses one at a time. Browse them on the
Scale-Up page.
Payments and Refunds
6 questions
Is this a subscription?
No. There is no monthly or yearly plan and nothing recurring. You buy the courses you
want, one at a time, and you are charged once per purchase.
How do I pay?
Add courses to your cart and check out. Payments are processed by Paymongo, which
supports cards and the usual local e-wallet options. Your full card details never reach
this platform.
Can I buy several courses at once?
Yes. The cart holds as many courses as you like and you pay for them in a single
checkout. Each course is then enrolled separately on your account.
Can I get a refund?
Yes, within 14 days of purchase, as long as you have not completed more than a quarter
of the course and have not been issued its certificate. Ask through
Contact Us with the course name and the email you
paid with. Full terms are in section 5 of the
Terms and Conditions.
How long does a refund take?
We process approved refunds back to the original payment method. How quickly it shows
up is up to your bank or wallet provider, and is usually a few business days.
Where is my receipt?
A confirmation is emailed to the address on your account when the payment clears. If it
has not arrived, check your spam folder first, then
tell us and we will resend it.
Certificates
3 questions
How do I earn a certificate?
Meet the course's stated completion requirements, which usually means passing the
graded assessments. The course page lists what is required before you enroll.
Is a certificate an accredited qualification?
No. A certificate confirms you completed a specific course here. It is not an academic
degree and carries no credit or professional accreditation unless the course page
explicitly says otherwise.
Can I share my certificate?
Yes. Each certificate has its own link that you can put on a CV or a professional
profile, and anyone with the link can verify it.
Account and Technical
5 questions
I forgot my password.
Use the Forgot password link on the sign-in page. A reset link goes to
your registered email address and is valid for a limited time.
How do I change my email address or name?
Both live in your account settings, reachable from the menu under your name in the top
bar. Changing your email address requires confirming the new one.
A video will not play.
Try a different browser or network first, since most video problems are local. If it
persists, send us a message with the course name,
the unit, and the browser you are using.
How do I delete my account?
You can request deletion from your account settings. Deleting an account is permanent
and does not automatically refund courses you have already bought, so check the
Terms and Conditions first if a refund matters.
I think someone else has access to my account.
Change your password immediately, then
contact us so we can help secure the account. Never
send us your password.
Still Stuck?
Send us the details and a real person will get back to you, usually within two business days.
